it's rainin'

After the girls napped, we met Hannah downtown near Falls Park. Of course, it started to thunder as we got parked, but we decided to brave it. We brought some bubbles for the girls, but they were really just more excited to run around after each other, sometimes holding hands, sometimes not. It was cute ALL the time, so it didn't really matter much to me! :)

We realized that it was getting to be dinner time, so we started to make our way to Mellow Mushroom (yum--white pie!). That thunder we heard earlier? You guessed it, downpour! We managed to make it to the bridge which provided some cover. Let's just say that running in flip flops while holding a 32 lb. toddler who doesn't understand why you're running isn't really that easy! It never really looked like it was going to quit raining, so when it looked like it had at least slowed some, we finished the last part of our mad dash. By the time we got to the 'Shroom, we were all soaked, I was out of breath, and we were sorely disappointed that the wait was 45 minutes. It was quickly decided that we could not wait that long, so we decided to just cut our losses and take all of our wet selves to the appropriate houses. Shane went to get there car, which was closer. He had hardly gotten out the door when he called to tell us that it had stopped raining! So much for fun and SUN in the park! Maybe next time...
