3 weeks old!

I can't believe that it's been 3 weeks since this little thing came into the world!! Wow--time is flying...

We went to the Christie Group for a weight check today. The nurse asked me if I had concerns (since it wasn't something that a doctor requested). I told her no, that I just thought it would make me feel better to know that she was actually gaining weight. No more concerns--she weighs 7 lbs, 6 oz! She's put on 12 ounces since last Tuesday. I think that answers all my questions!

She was actually able to wear an outfit that we received as a gift from my cousin Carol. The weight gain gives me hope that she might be able to wear some more cute stuff soon!

I lost it!

Yay for no more umbilical cord! It (finally!) came off this morning. I was changing the 3rd diaper in about 10 minutes and it just popped off. Now we can get a real bath in the bathtub!

We have had a busy couple of days. Monday morning we went by The Preserve to visit folks there. It was nice to see everyone and Jordan slept through being passed off from person to person. Tuesday we took lunch to my Mom and hung out at her office for a little while. Then we went to my Grammy's house for a visit. And then we made a quick trip to Babies R Us. As you can tell, I'm liking the fact that I have my driving privileges back!

But, today will be a stay at home day. I really need to get some things straightened out in the nursery before the crib gets here any day...

Knocked out after a busy weekend! Posted by Picasa

The weekend

Saturday we went to Babies R Us and ordered the crib for Jordan's nursery. The handmade cradle we have will easily take us into the next couple of months. I think it would make the transition out of the cradle easier if she takes some naps in the crib. Plus, it will force us to get the rest of her stuff up off the floor and put away!

Before our BRU trip, we went to Guadalajara's for lunch. Shannon (owner's wife) was so happy to see us, but Kenneth was happier that the food actually tasted normal/good to me. Guad's and chinese were about the only things that I didn't want during pregnancy. And now, it miraculously tastes so much better. I think I actually wanted to go to Happy China the other day, too!

Saturday night we were invited to dinner with one of Kenneth's co-workers for his birthday. We were about 10 minutes late (I'm guessing that might become more acceptable to me in the future!). It turns out that one of my residents and his wife were there. He went to school with the birthday boy--what a small world. It was really funny as we were all being introduced, the guys were also introduced with their gamer names. For a couple of people, it was like "Oh, you're ....!" Anyway, the point of the story is that Jordan slept the entire time. There was lots of talking and laughing, etc. and she slept through the whole thing! And, when there was no conversation, Kenneth and I were just staring at her. You would think that we were waiting for her to levitate out of her carrier or something!

Mom and Carroll came over Sunday and brought us some lunch in exchange for a visit with the Peanut. The dogs were well behaved and Jordan slept through the visit. Mom just wants to see her eyes and have her awake for a while. I'm going to have to set up the video camera, I guess!

And, Jordan's official as her Social Security card came in the mail on Saturday. It's weird to have mail come in her name. Some times it still hasn't set in that she's here and she's ours!

2 weeks old

Jordan is 2 weeks and 1 day old today. At her last doctor's appointment (this past Tuesday), she weighed 6lbs 10oz--just one oz short of her birth weight. So, I guess this whole nursing thing really is working!!

She is starting to stay awake a little more during the day and we have been getting some tummy time with the Baby Einstein activity mat that Titi Mireya gave us. She seems to like it, but it's hard to tell what or if she is actually looking at.

As for me, I am feeling great. My incision is so much better than it was and I now understand why it is recommended that you not drive for a couple of weeks after a C-section. Some movements made me feel like I must be ripping open and just stopped me in my tracks! That has greatly subsided, so I look forward to being able to get out and about next week if I feel the urge! I even feel like I'm getting a reasonable amount of sleep (ask me again tomorrow!)...

There was a pancreas in there THIS BIG!!!

Yeah, I have no reason to cry at all. Covered in muck, cold, & who is laying hands on me! Hmm, someone got swaddle for me? I am not an exhibitionist! Posted by Hello

Believe it or not, but Ken is taking pictures of my innards right now.

I love it when there is a kid grabbing onto my rib cage for dear life!! & who says drugs are all bad!! I can't feel anything!!! Posted by Hello

Get that outta my nose!!!

This is the big slice they pulled Jordan out of & welcome her into the world (by sticking a snot vaccuum into her nose!). Posted by Hello

Here we go!

Seeing how it's been about two weeks since Jordan was born, I'm kinda getting a late start on this. So, I'm going to toss a few pictures up so we can all get caught up to the screaming, yelling, diaper filling fun that is Jordan Elizabeth Manning!!
