nice and relaxed after my bath

My Aunt Heather got me this great bathrobe. It's very comfy and nice to relax in after bath time.

conversations with Daddy

Jordan likes to talk to her Daddy. I don't have a clue what they talk about, but it is pretty entertaining for all parties involved!

Kenneth always makes sure to have a shirt on when he holds Jordan because she likes to grab and pull the hairs on his chest--he hates that!

6 week check

Today was my 6 week post partum check with my OBGYN. Everything looks great. My incision has healed nicely. If only I could lose these last few lingering pounds... :)

All in due time!

my first plane trip!

5 generations of great women!! Posted by Picasa

From left to right, top to bottom:
my grandmother (69), my mom (50), me (30), my great-grandmother (94), and Jordan (5 weeks)

Mom, Jordan and I braved a trip to Florida to visit Mom's side of our family. We left on Sunday morning and eventually got to our destination. Instead of a connection in Atlanta from Greenville, we ended up on a bus to Charlotte and then a non-stop flight to Tampa. There was WAY too much drama involved for what should have been such a simple trip. But, we made it and had a good time, so what else can you ask for?! The trip home on Thursday was much better. And, while it was great to see everyone, it was nice to be home, too! Jordan and I both took a pretty good nap Thursday afternoon to prove it.

The Manning family

The Manning's Posted by Picasa

We went to Rock Hill for Kenneth's birthday today. It was great to see the grandparents, Karl and Nathan! Kenneth got a fishing pole for his birthday--I think it was a subliminal message for us to come up more often so that we can go out on Karl's new fishing boat... :)

Happy Birthday!! Posted by Picasa

Daddy's birthday!

Today is Kenneth's 31st birthday. Of course, we went to his favorite restaurant, Guadalajara's, for dinner. Jordan slept through dinner. It was so nice to have dinner with some of Kenneth's friends and co-workers!

Nursing moms group

I have been looking forward to this support group meeting since Jordan was born. So, for her 4 week birthday, we went to a local church to hang out with other nursing moms and babies and one of the best lactation consultants! The group meets the first Thursday of each month. There were probably 10-12 moms and babies there. It was really interesting because of the range of ages of the babies and their respective issues/questions. And, as I suspected, it was a laid back group and at some point, I think each Mom nursed their baby at least once. It was nice to know that I wasn't the only one having some of the feelings that I'm having. And it was very interesting to hear about some of the challenges that moms are having that we could face down the road. While Jordan slept through it (after she ate!), I thought it was very interesting and can't wait until the next meeting!

camp visit

I shouldn't have gone up to Camp! It made me miss it that much more. Jordan was pretty good all things considered. It was hot and muggy, but she pretty much slept it off. We went up Tuesday and Wednesday. I didn't remember the Baby Bjorn carrier until Wednesday. That was a great purchase! It made it a lot easier for me to get around and carry her, plus it kept her "protected" from the kids and their hands. I know they just want to love on her, but I want her to stay well, so I used every excuse in the book as to why they couldn't hold her or mess with her! So now I just have to figure out a way to get us there next summer so that I don't go through this next year...

4th of July weekend

We did not do a whole lot over the holiday weekend. Kenneth cut the grass and retrieved his car from the EP parking lot. His car died! It's very sad, but the 'Stang needs a new engine. He went to leave work one day last week and engine parts started rolling around the parking lot! I'm just thankful that he wasn't out on the road when it decided to croak...

Monday afternoon we went to the lake to eat with the Carson's. Mom was ever the proud grandma and everyone fell in love with her. She wore one of the few things that she can fit into (other than a onesie)--a cute linen dress from Kenneth's Mom. It even has a matching hat. When I get the pictures from Mom's camera, I'll put them up.

Many of you know about my involvement with Camp Opportunity. Camp started Sunday and I can't believe that I'm not there! It was tough enough going to the planning meetings and not being sad about it. It's hard when this is what I've done every summer except one since my Senior year in high school! I plan to go and visit this week...
