playing in the walker!

Aren't these two of the happiest people you've ever seen!?! Jordan really enjoys her walker--and don't worry, it stays downstairs to avoid the risk of ending up down the steps unexpectedly--not that she can really maneuver it that well...

I posted a link to the other pictures that I took during this little session. Kenneth held "Trotter" right in front of her smiling face for most of them. And even the couple of times that we used Trotter for bait for a smile and he would move him away, his hooves would still be in the air and in the way. I just gave up!

Visit with Grandma!

To make up for not being able to make it down last weekend, Kenneth's mom and dad came down today. We all had a nice time and Jordan was in good spirits for the visit. Of course, she went down for a nap the second that mom and dad pulled in the driveway. But, her internal egg timer went off at precisely 30 minutes (it's been doing that a LOT lately!), so Grandma didn't have to wait too long to hold her and love on her! I had asked Irma to speak Spanish to Jordan when she is here. Maybe some of it will sink in. I guess I might learn some that way, too!

out to dinner

My dad is in town this weekend for the Clemson/Boston College football game. We went to dinner tonight at Soby's. These pictures pretty much sum up the night--sort of OK one second and just plain mad the next! Uncle Trey was a good sport to hold her, but that lasted about as long as it takes to look at these pictures! Jordan was not on her best behavior, but the service was so bad, that it didn't really matter anyway...

Additional info!

So, I thought I should provide some additional information as to why Kenneth and Jordan got to spend yesterday together! Kenneth's dad is a huge University of Miami Hurricanes fan. I'm sure most of you know that I am a huge Clemson fan. We gave Kenneth's dad a ticket to the Clemson/Miami game for his birthday. Karl and I went to the game and Kenneth got to stay with Jordan. His mom was supposed to come and help, but she was sick, so unfortunately did not get to see the little girl! The game was great except for the outcome since we lost! You would know that the time Kenneth is "home alone" is when the game goes into TRIPLE overtime. But, it seems as though it was a good thing since they had such a great time together!

All Alone...

Today I (Ken) got to spend all day with Jordan. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to have her all to myself all day. We spent most of the time she was awake talking about bleh & blaaaahh, but the real deep stuff is just between us (mostly brrrrp & yaaaah).
She did sleep most of the day but the time she was alert was by far the best time I've had with her to date. I never thought this would have been as much fun as it was (& it probably won't be the next time) but I had a blast interacting with her so much. She's a pretty cool kid!!!

Milestones

This month is flying by and all of the changes Jordan is making are surely not helping things! :)

It seems like her eyebrows are starting to have color now. They have always been there, but now you can see them without having to hold her in the light just right.

Jordan has also discovered her hands. She grabs at things and holds her "square" (lovie) close to her when she's getting ready to go to sleep. After we put her down for bed, we watched her in the monitor looking at her hands and grasping them, clenching them, and finally just drifting off to sleep.

I think she's found her vocal cords, too! She has been "talking"to us for a while, now, but she has started with some new sounds that we don't know! Sometimes it sounds like she is just so mad, but then when you look at her face, she is smiling away! Other times she really is mad, but we don't have those cries figured out as to what she wants yet! (Any suggestions?!) hee hee!!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'!

Jordan rolled over tonight from belly to back! Kenneth thinks that she didn't mean to do it, but it doesn't matter to me either way. The 3 of us were in the nursery so she could get some tummy time and over she went! She did it a few more times and even went both ways, so I think she did mean to do it each and every time! We took some pictures of before and after. I'll post them in a little bit--I just wanted to get the word out first!

She is also spitting up tons! Just beware when you hold her that she might spew. I talked to the nurse at the Christie Group just to make myself feel better. I didn't think it was anything to worry about because she's eating fine and gaining weight (as evidenced by the rolls on her legs!), but it was nice to hear from someone else. It just seemed to have gotten worse over the last few days. I think she hit her 3 month growth spurt Saturday (right on time) because she ate every 2 hours without fail. The nurse suspects that she is just getting so much milk that the rest of her might not realize to work to keep it down just yet...

3 months old!

Yikes! Jordan is 3 months old today. She's actually 13 weeks and 1 day, but who's counting?! I guess it will just be easier to reference months at this point instead of weeks, huh? :)
Jordan weighs a little over 13 lbs. She is more alert than ever. She definitely recognizes our voices when we come in the room. She is always looking around for Kenneth after she hears him as it takes a few minutes for her to get him in her line of sight.

what a growing girl!

Jordan now weighs 12 1/2 lbs.! I can't believe how big she is getting. It's funny, though, because there are still so many cute outfits that she can't wear that are labeled for 3 months and others that she is wearing that say they are for 6 months. Can't manufacturers come up with some universal system or something? I know a lot of it depends on the baby, but holding up some things that say the same size prove to be very different!
Will I ever stop keeping track of how many weeks old she is versus months? She is 12 weeks today but won't be 3 months until next Friday! I guess I should drop the weeks, huh?
